The Bylaws as adopted June, 2002, "Duties of Officers," state:
The Director of Nominations and Elections shall be a member of the Board of Directors; shall be chairman of the Nominations and Elections Committee, and shall have such additional duties as the President may delegate.
Further, the Bylaws, in "Article VII - Nominations and Elections" states:
Section 1 The Nominations and Elections Committee shall present a slate of officers comprised of two candidates, if possible for each office to be elected.
Section 2 The President-elect shall automatically be named President at the close of the term of the President.
Section 3 In odd-numbered years, a President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, and Director of Membership shall be elected. In even-numbered years, a President-Elect, Treasurer, and Director of Nominations and Elections shall be elected.
Section 4 Eligible candidates for any Association office shall be nominated in writing according to the rules of the Nominations and Elections Committee. No candidate shall be nominated without the individual's consent.
Section 5 Ballots shall be mailed to each voting member according to the schedule established by the Nominations and Elections Committee. Names of other candidates may be written in. Completed ballots shall be returned as directed by the Nominations and Elections Committee. A plurality vote in each position shall elect.
Section 6 The terms of the newly elected officers shall begin following their installation at the annual meeting.
In addition to the current Bylaws and to the Job Description for All Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.OO of this section, the Director of Nominations and Elections shall:
- Notify President of the results of balloting and send letters to new officers and unsuccessful candidates of the results in their category.
