The Bylaws as adopted June, 2002, "Duties of Officers," state:
The Director of Membership shall be a member of the Board of Directors; shall be chairman of the Membership Committee, and shall have additional duties as the President may delegate. One member of the committee shall be elected by the Advisory Council.
The membership committee shall be in charge of registration of members at regular meetings if requested to do so; shall pass on the eligibility of members to vote; shall be responsible for promoting membership; shall issue Bylaws to new members, shall work closely with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP) State Membership Chairman; and shall keep an up-to-date list of Association members.
In addition to the current Bylaws and to the Job Description for All Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.00 of this section, the Membership Director shall:
- Maintains a database and supply labels to conference chair and necessary committees within two weeks of the request.
- Keep an up-to-date record on every member-past and present.
- Mail dues reminders the first of each month.
- Remove names of members who have not paid after three months of notices. (These members are placed in past member file).
- Keep Board of Directors abreast of additions and deletions to the membership as well as a hard copy of the current membership at each Board of Director's meeting.
- Be responsible for promoting EOPO membership.
- Send monies collected to the treasurer on a regular basis.
- Submit an article along with an application for membership for each issue of the Buckeye Bulletin, the EOPO newsletter.
- Keep supplies current, i.e., membership cards, receipts. Confer with President and/or Board of Directors regarding large purchases of supplies.
- Keep copies of past and present letters used regarding membership for future use by newly elected membership directors.
- Select and present the "Red Carnation Award" to the individual who has gained the most members for EOPO during-the current year. The presentation is made at the Annual spring Conference.
- Prepare a membership card and certificate to be awarded to the student scholarship recipient by the scholarship chairman.
- Have a special project during each year that is solely her idea in promoting and increasing the membership.
- Send new members names (who request it) on to the State EOPO/NAEOP Membership Director. This should include name, address, phone number, and name of school district.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the President and for the Board of Directors.
