Elected Position
One-Year Term

The Bylaws as adopted June, 2002, "Duties of Officers," state:

The President shall preside at all meetings of the Association and the Board of Directors; shall call special meetings as needed, shall, with the approval of the Board of Directors, appoint chairmen of all committees as specified in Article XII, and shall perform other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors.

In addition to the current Bylaws and the Job Description for All Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.00 of this section, the President shall:

  1. Prepare a written agenda for all such meetings and distribute it to all members, including the past presidents of the Association, well in advance of the meeting.
  2. Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees (except for the Nominations and Elections Committee), and provide guidance and leadership to committee chairmen as required.
  3. Recommend EOPO members to serve on the various committees in order to insure the involvement of new members and statewide participation on all committees.
  4. Following installation as President, write a letter to the superintendent/administrator of each officer and committee chairman informing them of their employee's involvement and asking for support of the employee and EOPO.
  5. Authorize all disbursements of EOPO funds by reviewing all requests for reimbursement or payment of bills and initial indicating approval/disapproval.
  6. Promote the professional growth of all educational office professionals throughout the state of Ohio through correspondence and visits to affiliates and other organizations when invited.
  7. Represent EOPO by attendance at meetings of allied organizations when invited.
  8. Serve as the EOPO alternate delegate to the annual meeting of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. If the President is unable to attend as the alternate delegate, the Board of Directors may appoint another member of the Board.
  9. Keep the President-Elect informed of everything that is going on.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the President and/or the Board of Directors.
