17.00 Sunshine Chair Job Description

Appointed by the President
One-Year Term
May be reappointed

The Bylaws, as adopted in June, 2002, "Committees," state:

The Sunshine Committee shall be responsible for sending cards, flowers, or donations according guidelines approved by the Board of Directors. The chairman shall be appointed by the President.

In addition to the current Bylaws and to the Job Description for all Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.OO of this section, the Sunshine Chairman shall:

1. Work within the budget established for the Sunshine Fund to cover all expenses of cards, postage, flowers, and/or donations as needed.
2. Establish a committee consisting of a representative from each of the affiliates. These representatives will keep the chairman apprised of any information concerning illness, death, births, etc. of EOPO members from their affiliates.
3. Encourage all members of EOPO to forward information about other EOPO members who might not be a member of an affiliate regarding illness, death, birth, etc.
4. Submit articles to the newsletter chairman spreading "Sunshine" to all EOPO members and friends.
5. Send cards to members or other friends of EOPO due to illness, hospitalization, births, congratulation, and death of members or to the member's spouse, children, grandchildren or parents.
6. Establish guidelines yearly and have approved by the Board depending on budget appropriation regarding the sending of flowers to all board members and past presidents for illness, hospitalization, births or deaths.
7. Recognize that there may be other expenditures for special memorials beyond these guidelines as stated in section 6, which will require a vote of the members of the Board of directors and will not be funded from the Sunshine Committee budget. Duplicate?

9. Perform additional duties as assigned by the President and/or Board of Directors.
