15.00 Awards Chair Job Description

The Bylaws, as adopted in June, 2002, "Committees," state:

The Awards Committee, by a majority vote, shall select the final recipient(s) for the Educational Office Employee of the Year Award and the Administrator of the Year Award based on the guidelines established by NAEOP. This committee shall recommend the final recipient(s) for the award(s) to the board for approval. The Awards Committee shall recommend to the Board of Directors for approval any additional awards they deem appropriate. The awards shall be established annually in the Budget as approved by the Board of Directors. In the event of a tie, the final selection shall be determined by a vote of the Board of Directors.

In addition to the current Bylaws and to the Job Description for all Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.00 of this section, the Awards Chairman shall:

  1. Select a committee to help with the coordination of the awards selection.
  2. Distribute applications for state level Educational Office Employee of the Year and Administrator of the Year to the general membership in November of each year. This can be done by way of The Buckeye Bulletin.
  3. Coordinate committee for selection process, and presentation of candidates to Board of Directors for approval.
  4. Following Board approval, order plaques from a company, such as Balfour, in early spring to assure arrival prior to Annual June Meeting.
  5. Assist applicants in preparation of applications for submission to NAEOP. This must be done in early spring.
  6. Present Administrator and Educational Office Employee of the Year Awards to the selected candidates at the Banquet/Annual Meeting in June.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the President and/or Board of Directors.
