13.00 Professional Standards Program Chair Job Description

The Bylaws, as adopted in June, 2002, "Committees," state:

The Professional Standards Program Committee Chairman shall be a member of NAEOP. She shall have PSP applications and brochures available and sign all Data Sheets before forwarding them to NAEOP. The Chairman shall be appointed by the President. One member of the committee shall be elected by the Advisory Committee.

In addition to the current Bylaws and the Job Description for All Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.00 of this section, the Professional Standards Program (PSP) Chairman shall:

  1. Be familiar with the PSP Program of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP). Be able to answer questions submitted by EOPO members. The PSP Chairman should be a holder of a PSP Certificate and should promote the program through local affiliations as well as through EOPO. Shall keep the membership abreast of all additions, changes, and/or deletions in the PSP Program.
  2. Have PSP applications and brochures available for distribution.
  3. Be responsible for signing and verifying (as nearly as possible) the information listed on the individual's PSP application.
  4. Keep a file on all correspondence relating to PSP and also keep on file, copies of any papers forwarded to her for verification/clarification and note all members currently working on certificates.
  5. Endeavor to find out all who are eligible to receive certificates having fulfilled all requirements.
  6. Keep a current record of Ohio recipients of PSP certificates and acknowledge the receiving of them by some form of State recognition. The PSP Chairman shall keep two cumulative records of certificates awarded to members-one by name, and-one by kind of certificate, year and where awarded.
  7. Present PSP workshops, if requested, to aid members in working for their certification.
  8. Work with newsletter editor in publishing articles encouraging members to work for PSP Certificates. 9.Perform additional duties as assigned by the President and/or the Board of Directors.
