The Bylaws as adopted in June, 2002, "Committees," states:

The Affiliations Committee shall be responsible for contacting local associations for educational office personnel and asking them to affiliate with the Association. The chairman shall be appointed by the President and shall serve as Chairman of the Advisory Council. One member of the committee shall be elected by the Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council shall be comprised of one delegate from each affiliated chapter. This delegate shall be a member of the Association and shall serve as delegate to only one affiliated chapter of which the delegate is a member. The President and the President-elect of the Association shall be members ex-officio. The members of the Board of Directors shall serve as resource persons.

The duties of the Advisory Council shall be to develop programs for the promotion of the Association's purposes and activities in the various localities; to advise the Board of Directors in matters concerning the Association; to elect two members to the Nominations and Elections Committee, and one member each to the following committees: Affiliations, Legislative and Bylaws, Membership, and Professional Standards Program. Committee members elected must be present at the meeting of the Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council shall meet annually at the time and place of the annual meeting of the Association. The Advisory Council may hold additional meetings at such times and places as determined by the Affiliations Chairman.

The Chairman shall appoint a secretary to keep the minutes of the Advisory Council at the annual meeting. The minutes shall be approved by the Chairman and sent by the appointed secretary to the President and the Secretary of the Association with thirty-days (30) after the conclusion of the meeting.

In addition to the current Bylaws and to the Job Description for All Elected and Appointed Members of the Board as described in Page 1.00 of this section, the Affiliation Chairman shall:

  1. Work closely with each established affiliate and attempts to attend a general meeting or workshop, at the invitation of the affiliate, to promote the positive relationship between the state organization and the local affiliated chapters.
  2. Be responsible for securing the annual affiliation renewal application and dues from each established affiliate thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Meeting.
  3. Attends local seminars and workshops, as requested by interested parties, to promote the Association and to provide assistance in forming a local affiliated chapter.
  4. Keep the official records and correspondences concerning all established affiliates.
  5. Perform additional duties as assigned by the President and for the Board of Directors.
