Section 5. Ballots shall be mailed to each voting member according to the schedule established by the Nominations and Elections Committee. Names of other candidates may be written in. Completed ballots shall be returned as directed by the Nominations and Elections Committee. A plurality vote in each position shall elect.  
Section 6. The term of the newly elected officers shall begin following their installation at the annual meeting.

ARTICLE IX – VACANCIES

Section 1. A vacancy in the office of President shall be filled by the President-Elect for the unexpired term.
Section 2. A vacancy in the office of the President-Elect shall be filled by the Vice President for the unexpired term.
Section 3. All other vacancies shall be filled by majority vote of the Board of Directors for the unexpired term of the office vacated.

ARTICLE X – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Section 1. The Board of Directors shall consist of the elected officers, the Immediate Past President, the Chairmen of all committees as listed in Article XII, and the President or elected representative of each affiliated chapter of the Association.
Section 2 The Board of Directors shall perform the duties as described in these Bylaws and shall conduct the affairs of the Association as determined by the membership and/or Board of Directors.
Section 3. The members of the Board of Directors shall be reimbursed for mileage to attend board meetings and committee meetings as established annually in the budget.
Section 4. Members of the Board of Directors may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in fulfilling their duties as set forth in the Bylaws and as established annually in the Budget.

ARTICLE XI – ADVISORY COUNCIL

Section 1. There shall be an Advisory Council comprised of one delegate from each affiliated chapter. This delegate shall be a member of the Association and shall serve as delegate to only one affiliated chapter of which the delegate is a member. The President and President-Elect of the Association shall be members ex officio of the Advisory Council. The members of the Board of Directors shall serve as resource persons.
Section 2. The duties of the Advisory Council shall be to develop programs for the promotion of the Association's purposes and activities in the various localities; to advise the Board of Directors in matters concerning the Association, to elect two members to the Nominations and Elections Committee, and one member to each of the following committees: Affiliations, Legislative and Bylaws, Membership, and Professional Standards Program. Committee members elected must be present at the meeting of the Advisory Council.
